MODERN BOHEMIAN

This landscape design was gifted to the homeowners as a housewarming to their first house. Their front yard was all grass right up to the shed where they store their waste bins. The preferred design style was Modern Bohemian. Like interior design, this style lends itself to using a lot of colour and texture. The homeowners were open to removing all the grass, adding a bit of paving and the balance to be garden bed. We focused on their favourite colours – green, white and blue/purples and clean lines, defined groupings of plants and plants with strong form. The garden was also designed to be low maintenance and to ensure their time was focused on their growing family. To achieve better circulation in the space, the front walkway was extended to the shed and towards the walkway to the side of their home/a set of stairs accessing a basement apartment. Functionally, the added paving allowed for easy maneuvering of the waste bins directly from the shed to the paved area to the curb. As time goes on, this beautiful Modern Bohemian garden will mature and fill out providing pops of colour and interest all year round.
