Backyard Refresh
“Stephanie used her connections and knowledge to get us the most beautiful plants. She worked so hard to make sure her landscape design surpassed our every expectation!”
This backyard refresh was meant to prepare this home for sale. The space was uninviting aside from an existing deck. The gardens were covered in an old vine and plants. The goal was to create a landscape design that made the space feel private and enclose it as if in a room. New garden beds were cut on either side of the space. On one side Emerald Cedars were used to take advantage of sunlight, provide privacy and not cast shade into the space. On the other side a wall of Hornbeams were installed to cover an unattractive frost fence. At their feet Catmint was installed. Other plants used were Sedum and Astilbe. Although the homeowners knew this landscape wasn’t for them to enjoy, for their remaining time in the house, they were surprised by how beautiful the space felt to them. They loved hearing the leaves on the trees rustle in the wind which calmed anxiety. This is an example of creating a sensory experience in a garden.
